i don't understand why he wants to keep pushing her off when the other girl has been doing the same to him and giving all sorts of mixed messages

part of it might be based on what she said on stage about having a crush "is there such a person?" and doubts her sincerity

Shiya's emotion was just very unstable so he can't really be sure if what she's saying or did to him was real. In fact, he literally just met her. It's not they've been living together for years. He still didn't know a lot of things about her.

Apparently that's how guys they tend to go towards a person who's pushing them away, ans ignore the ones who are kind and good to them. Infact that's how humans are and not realizing this thing destroys a lot of things in life.

Up & down we go. Shiya does have some serious problem though. That angry/snappy actions needs to be addressed but then she'd pretty much have to return back to her industry right?
